Left home at 7.30am arriving in Palmerston North at 3.20pm.. with a stop at Waiouru at lunch time for a bit to eat, then on our way again.

Staying at Big Five Motel Palmerston North. Disappointed that they gave us a room with these bunks as it takes up a lot of room. I paid for a bigger unit not expecting the extra space was going to be taken up with bunks....
After we settled into our motel started off for a walk as we are near the park which runs down to the river bank but it then the sky looked very black and we felt it was going to start to rain so went back and got the car and went into town to get a few supplies and back to the motel. A few spits but the rain didn't come to much. We are having two nights here so got all day tomorrow to look around although I don't think the weather is looking too good. So will have to wait and see.
